Material samples are usually embedded in plastic. This provides them with the necessary support for further mechanical preparation. The plastic embedding around the material sample is a prerequisite for optimum flatness and edge sharpness of the materialographic section. The cold embedding process is ideal for producing the plastic embedding, which impresses with its many advantages: speed, very high flexibility and very high cost-effectiveness.
