Good sample cleaning during and at the end of the preparation process is the basis for satisfactory results in materialography. SCAN-DIA cleaning products are indispensable for every work step. In order to obtain gap-free grinding samples, material samples must be well cleaned and degreased before embedding. When grinding and polishing, the sample should be rinsed under warm water after each grinding and polishing step and the polishing abrasion removed with wet cotton wool. The grinding and polishing process can only be carried out effectively and efficiently in the long term if carryover of coarser grinding and polishing grains to the next finer preparation stage is avoided. To achieve this, the grinding should be cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaning unit after the last grinding stage and between each polishing stage.
