SCANDIFORMS round

Inner-Ø: 40 x 30 mm high
Flexible embedding mould. SCAN-DIA offers a wide range of silicone rubber embedding moulds. SCANDIFORMS are very flexible and absolutely dimensionally stable. The cured specimens can be easily de-mounted without leaving any residue and without the need to grease the mould. The SCANDIFORM can be reused immediately after each application. Caution: When using different SCAN-DIA mounting media, the mounting moulds should be used together and the different shelf lives should be observed. With polyester resin, e.g. SCANDIPLAST, the moulds are suitable for several thousand embeddings, with acrylic resin, e.g. SCANDIQUICK, for about 100 embeddings and with epoxy resin, e.g. SCANDIPLEX, for about 25-30 embeddings.

AEQUIDUR - Type H for Hard Metals: The Hardness Equalizing Powder for Demanding Materialography

The distinctive challenge in hard metal samples lies in avoiding relief formations. A high-quality hardness equalizing powder in materialography is characterized by precise hardness adjustment, prevention of relief formations, consistency, versatility, ease of use, and compliance with standards. It aids materials scientists in achieving precise and reliable microscopic examinations. In the highly specialized world of materialography, the preparation of hard metal samples faces recurring challenges. The quality of sample preparation is crucial to obtain accurate and reliable results, especially when dealing with exceptionally hard materials. This is where AEQUIDUR - Type H comes into play, a specialized hardness equalizing powder designed to meet the specific requirements in the preparation of hard metal samples. The tailored hardness adjustment of the embedding compound to the specific hardness of hard metal samples is a fundamental requirement in materialography. AEQUIDUR - Type H offers a consistent solution: it allows for precise adjustment of the embedding compound to the exceptional hardness of hard metal samples and reliably minimizes the formation of relief structures. Relief structures, also known as embedding reliefs or hardness reliefs, can occur on the surface of the sample when the embedding compound is not correctly adjusted to the hardness of the sample. These irregularities can lead to distortions and misinterpretations of the subsequent images, significantly compromising the quality of the examinations. AEQUIDUR - Type H provides a reliable solution for preventing relief formations by enabling precise hardness adjustment of the embedding compound. This ensures that the sample remains stable during the embedding process and is free from unwanted deformations or unevenness. The highly specialized hardness equalizing powder meets the demanding requirements of materials scientists and experts in the field of hard metal testing. Overall, AEQUIDUR - Type H is an indispensable tool for materialography, especially in the challenging embedding of hard metals. With this specially developed hardness equalizing powder, materialographers can be confident that their results are precise and meaningful, making a significant contribution to the advancement of materials science.
